In the first episode of Glengarry Votes, hosts Jena Doonan and Kelli Campeau begin with one of the most important questions ahead of the October 26, 2026 Municipal Election: Are you eligible to vote?
The episode breaks down Ontario’s municipal voting requirements, including citizenship, age, residency and property ownership qualifications. It also explains the importance of making sure your name appears on the voters’ list and what residents can do if their information needs to be added or updated.
Jena and Kelli also address some common voting situations, including students who are temporarily living away from home, property owners who may qualify to vote in more than one municipality, identification requirements, and why voting by proxy is not available in North or South Glengarry.
With online and telephone voting available in both municipalities, eligible residents have options to participate even when they cannot be physically present in Glengarry during the voting period.
