Celebrating 10 Years of Concerts at the Grotto

This summer marks the 10th anniversary of Concerts at the Grotto in Alexandria — a beloved Wednesday tradition held every Wednesday evening at 7 pm throughout July and August! The series was launched in 2016 by Elizabeth and Brian Caddell to support the restoration of the iconic Grotto—a Marian shrine built in 1954 to honour both the miracle at Fatima and local soldiers lost in wartime—that had fallen into disrepair.

Each concert is free to attend, with goodwill donations welcomed to further restoration efforts. Over the past decade, musicians—many local—have volunteered their talents, helping breathe new life into this cherished Glengarry landmark. What began as a community fundraiser has blossomed into a vibrant musical tradition, bringing families together in a celebration of heritage, community, and live music under the summer sky .
