The County Lads Drop High-Energy New Single Just Going Down
From kitchen parties to festival stages, The County Lads have always been about bringing people together — and their latest release, Just Going Down, is no exception. Now streaming on all major platforms, the track captures the group’s signature mix of rootsy charm, Celtic fire, and country soul.
Formed in 2015 by brothers Alec and Hamish McDonald in the SD&G Counties, The County Lads quickly evolved from a hometown favourite into a full-force band with Nolan Laframboise on bass and Joah Vaillancourt on drums. Together, they’ve carved out a sound that feels both timeless and current — grounded in tradition, yet ready to light up a modern stage.
With a strong nod to their Scottish and Irish heritage, their music draws in listeners with fiery fiddle lines, foot-stomping rhythms, and vocals that carry the grit and joy of the Eastern Ontario landscape.
“There’s something about their energy — it’s raw, it’s real, and it’s absolutely contagious.” — Music That Matters Blog
Just Going Down was recorded with the help of Neil Emburg and reflects the band’s tight musicianship and growing confidence as storytellers and performers.
