Katie Ditschun Releases New EP There Will Be Flowers — A Local Voice with Global Heart
From the heart of Alexandria, ON to the ears of listeners far beyond, singer-songwriter Katie Ditschun has released her soul-stirring new single “In Your Arms”, the lead track from her latest EP There Will Be Flowers — both now available on all streaming platforms.
A proud graduate of Berklee College of Music, Ditschun carries the warmth of Glengarry in her music, blending pop, folk, jazz, and storytelling with the grace of her musical idols — from Carole King to Sarah McLachlan. Her voice is unmistakable, her message honest: this is music that comforts, challenges, and connects.
“When I wrote ‘In Your Arms,’ I was grieving. I needed to believe that comfort could return. This song became that moment,” says Ditschun.
The EP is a deeply personal journey through grief, hope, joy, and resilience, shaped by the raw emotions of lived experience — including the loss of her mother. Yet, from this pain, Katie crafts something powerful: music that feels like being held, even when no one’s there.
There Will Be Flowers was recorded locally at Morning Anthem Studio in Cumberland and features a cast of regional musical talent — a reminder that excellence blooms right here in Eastern Ontario.
As co-owner of Seaway Valley Music Academy in Cornwall, Katie continues to mentor and uplift young musicians — living proof that Glengarry greatness is more than just a phrase. It’s a practice.
This isn’t just a release. It’s a reminder: Greatness grows here. And it sings.
